My April 2026 Beauty and Health Empties and Review
In 2025, I set out on a mission to love my morning and night routine. When I took a look at my bathroom drawers, my piles of makeup, and my vanity, I knew there were products I loved in there, but all I could see was junk. I wanted to enjoy my time while putting on my makeup and while taking it off. Between all the items that were given to me and all of the ones I bought mindlessly, I was in a haze where I didn’t know what I loved and what I put up with.
To put a stop to haphazard buying and begin purposeful purchases, I began reviewing every “empty” I had. In April, I had a very tame month of going through some items that were gifted to me, as well as going through some of my regular products. Surprisingly, I also had a revelation about what products I would like to continue and not continue using going forward to minimize my negative environmental impact. Additionally, I want to announce that my skincare, haircare, and hygiene products are now fully vegan and cruelty-free! Makeup, you’re next.
Peanuts x Celavi Snoopy’s Face Sheet Mask Set
I received these as a Christmas gift, and I absolutely loved using them. They were so much fun, and I actually do think that they helped moisturize my skin. This brand is also cruelty-free, so that is a big plus. I am a long-time lover of individual sheet masks, but as I’ve started looking at how much waste I might be producing within my empties, I realize that sheet masks contribute to a good percentage of that because I am not able to recycle them. I collect all my bottle products to take to Ulta to recycle, but I can’t do the same with sheet masks. Though I enjoyed using this product, I will not be repurchasing larger packs of sheet masks anymore.

Skin1004 Centella Probio-cica Nourishing Mask
I really like Skin1004’s centella line, and this is my favorite sheet mask out there. I love the serum that it holds, and I think it helps to moisturize my skin a lot. Though, as I just stated, I am going to be moving away from sheet masks. Instead of using them frequently, I will only be using them occasionally. I love taking sheet masks on vacations to do them with the people I am traveling with, since it is a fun, special occasion. If I do something like this, this is the sheet mask that I am going to choose.
Repurchase: Occasionally.
Man:yo Pure Cleansing Oil
I bought this in a bulk pack at Costco, and I was very excited to try it since I had heard great things. I absolutely love this cleansing oil. It really agrees with my skin and does a great job at removing makeup, sweat, and any dirt. It is a thicker cleansing oil, and I use about two pumps per use. I would suggest rubbing it in for about one minute, emulsifying for around 15 seconds, and then washing it off. I do use a foaming cleanser after, but I use this product to remove my makeup, and then the foaming cleanser to really clean. They work wonderfully together, and I am really happy with my purchase. My only hesitancy with this product is that the brand is not 100% certified vegan and cruelty-free. If I find a brand with a similar product that is fully vegan and cruelty-free, then I will make the switch.
Repurchase: Yes.
PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash 10%
This is my long-time cleanser, and I have finished yet another bottle. With this foaming wash, I clean my face for around a minute or more, and then I rinse it off. Easy peasy. For me, this is not incredibly drying, and it is not too harsh either. I have heard some people say that this is too harsh for their skin, in which case, I recommend trying the 4% version. I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin, and this works great for me. Proudly, PanOxyl is vegan and cruelty-free, so I will continue to support their products.
Repurchase: Yes.
Kitsch Rice Water Solid Conditioner
This is the first Kitsch conditioner that I finished, and admittedly, it took a while to get used to. I have used bar conditioner in the past, but I struggled to really acclimate to using this. After use, my mother gave me the remainder of her conditioner, and I used that for a while, and I realized I really didn’t mind using the bar conditioner. At first, I thought I was pulling on my hair too much when using it, causing hair to fall out. Though when I used the liquid conditioner again, the same amount of hair was coming out. I also do think that the bar conditioner was adequately conditioning my hair, which is something I initially worried about. Was there a learning curve? Yes. Did I ultimately repurchase this product? Also yes.

The Ordinary Multi-peptide Serum for Hair Density
I have used this product in the past, and when I said on social media that I saw no difference in my hair, an angry commenter told me that I needed to use a hair growth product for at least six months before I would see a difference. They also said that they loved this product and it is one of the best on the market. Touche. So, I repurchased it, and this is the first bottle of my long-term use. I will be using it every day and adding it to my night routine. Honestly, after the first bottle, my hairdresser actually did comment that the hair closest to my roots seemed to be thicker than the last time she saw me. I will continue to use this and report back, but it seems like I am on the right track.

No makeup empties this month. Check back in May ~
Ariana Grande Vanilla Mod Perfume
I wanted this perfume so badly, and any time I smelled it on anyone else, I loved it. The problem is, I can rarely smell it on anyone else, and I could never smell it on myself. I smelled it on one person when I passed them, and they actually were relieved to hear that I could smell it on them because they can’t smell it on themselves either. I don’t want to wear a perfume that completely disappears after I spray it on or that I go nose blind to. I would ask other people if they could smell it, and often the answer was no unless they smelled my clothes. For me, spending $80 on a perfume that I can’t smell and no one else can smell is disappointing, and I won’t be repurchasing.

TheraBreath Oral Rinse - Dazzling Mint
TheraBreath makes my favorite mouthwash ever, and I will not stray from it. I use it every morning and every night, and I love the fresh feeling it leaves me with. Something I really like is that it is very strong, but it doesn’t have that alcohol feeling that other big brand mouthwashes have. I go through about a bottle a month, and they do have a larger bottle than the one I get, but it won’t fit into my hygiene drawer, so I am sticking with the regular size. If you have room, I suggest getting the larger one. This one is supposed to whiten your teeth, which I don’t think I’ve seen the result of, but I enjoy it for how clean it leaves my mouth.
Repurchase: Yes.
Wild Deodorant - Coconut and Vanilla
Before this scent, I was using the orange marmalade, and when that discontinued, I switched to coconut and vanilla. I am kind of on edge with this deodorant in general because it does leave white staining on my clothes that doesn’t always wash out. I also do not think it fully masks smell. If you are sedentary most of the day but have your arms down, then you’re probably good. But for me, after work, when I work out, the deodorant is definitely not enough to keep me safe. With this smell specifically, I don’t think it masks anything. No one wants to smell bad, but no one wants cancer from aluminum in their deodorant. I don’t know what I am going to do going forward, but I will not be repurchasing this scent after I am done with the pack of it.
Repurchase: No.
TheraBreath Whitening Toothpaste - Dazzling Mint
I was so excited when TheraBreath released toothpaste, especially because it is also in my flavor. I have been using this since it was released, and I really like it. It lathers and foams really nicely, and I think my mouth feels very clean after use. While it leaves a fresh taste, I like using the mouthwash as well for maximum freshness. I was really worried about finding a vegan and cruelty-free toothpaste, and I am so happy that this one works so well.
Repurchase: Yes.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream Mini
My sister gave this to me, so I did not purchase it. I have always loved this scent, and I really love the way that this lotion feels on the skin. I think it is moisturizing without being overly oily. My complaint is how expensive it is. Personally, I am just not someone who is going to spend a larger amount on a lotion, so I will have to pass on repurchasing this. The scent is amazing, the feeling is amazing, but the price tag is not.
Repurchase: No.
