My March 2026 Beauty and Health Empties and Reviews

My March 2026 Beauty and Health Empties and Reviews

In 2025, I set out on a mission to love my morning and night routine. When I took a look at my bathroom drawers, my piles of makeup, and my vanity, I knew there were products I loved in there, but all I could see was junk. I wanted to enjoy my time while putting on my makeup and while taking it off. Between all the items that were given to me and all of the ones I bought mindlessly, I was in a haze where I didn’t know what I loved and what I put up with.

To put a stop to haphazard buying and begin purposeful purchases, I began reviewing every “empty” I had. March was a month where I really did not go through a lot, and while I was hoping this was going to be the norm from now on, once I took a look around, I found that I was running low on a lot of products. March made me feel good, though, as I realized what it felt like to not have a lot of waste. I was also able to finish a couple of products that I don’t plan on repurchasing and have been trying to finish for a while, so thank you, March!

The Ordinary Niacinamide

I saw someone online say that niacinamide helped their skin greatly with texture and wrinkles, so I figured it was cheap enough that I could test it out myself and see if it worked for me as well. I went with The Ordinary’s niacinamide because I really like how transparent they are about their ingredients, and they are also cruelty-free and vegan. I believe this was under $10, so it is not a big investment, and I can agree that it helped my skin’s texture a lot. I found that after using a whole bottle, the brightness and smoothness of my skin seemed to have improved. Since it is not expensive, I am going to continue to use it and see how it changes my skin long term.

Repurchase: Yes.

Kitsch Rice Water Solid Shampoo

So far, I really like the rice water shampoo bar, and I think this is the second one I have gone through. While I can’t attest to it increasing my hair growth, it hasn’t helped with my hair fallout. However, I do find that with a double shampoo, my hair is very clean, and if I’m not mistaken, it has also become less frizzy. I pair this with the rice water conditioner bar and have also recently started using their tea tree shampoo bar to remove hard water buildup that may be on my hair. I can find this at Target or Ulta, so the availability is very convenient, but I also love getting this on the website and easily gaining points.

Repurchase: Yes.

No makeup empties this month! Check back in April ~

b.tan Glow Your Own Way Self Tan Gel

This was labeled insanely dark, and I don’t agree with that rating. I think this gave me a nice tan, and frankly, it was the tan I wanted. The label of insanely dark made me nervous, but I saw reviews from other people that they didn’t agree with that level either. I went through this bottle over the course of a year, since I don’t self-tan very often, and I was pleased with the outcome every time. I will say, I don’t think I ever mastered how to use this around my hands, so that is my only problem area. I would say the tan lasts for around a week, but it also depends on how often you exfoliate. The only thing I didn’t like about this product was the scent. I feel like I could smell my skin having a self-tan scent until the tan was gone, but my sister said she didn’t smell anything, so do with that information what you will.

Repurchase: Yes.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Oil

For me, this body oil confirmed that I am not a body oil person, so I won’t be repurchasing it. I wouldn’t be repurchasing this anyway, though, since Palmer’s is not cruelty-free. I think this body oil was nice, and I liked how moisturizing it was, but I often layered it with lotions to try to get rid of the oily texture that was left on my skin. I think for a good amount of time, it would stay on my skin and wouldn’t rub off, so I only put it on areas that I was going to put clothes on top of. Unless someone gives me body oil, I probably won’t buy one again.

Repurchase: No.

Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails Softgels

I used to take biotin, and I stopped because I didn’t think it was doing anything, but I saw this at Costco and picked up a bottle. I am not sure that it works, but recently, at a doctor’s appointment, my doctor also told me to keep taking biotin to help with my hair fallout. She said it doesn’t hurt, so I will keep taking it. This bottle has a lot of soft gels for a low price, so I am going to continue with this brand since I also get other vitamins from them and haven’t heard anything bad.

Repurchase: Yes.

Tie Hair Bonnet

I saw a lot of people using this type of bonnet because it doesn’t fall off at night, so I decided to give it a go as well. I have always been a very heavy sleeper, and I also move a lot, so I have a hard time getting a bonnet to stay on through the night. While this bonnet stayed on all night, I think over time, it caused friction and breakage along my hairline. Since I lose a lot of hair at night, I do like wearing a bonnet, so I don’t get hair in my bed and it keeps any hairstyle I go to bed with more intact than without. The only problem I ended up having with this bonnet was the friction. I used this for a very long time, so now I am going to try to find a bonnet that only uses a scrunch but somehow doesn’t fall off. Wish me luck.

Repurchase: No.

Wild Deodorant - Coconut and Vanilla

Previously, I was using the orange marmalade scent, but after that ran out, I began using the coconut vanilla scent. I typically like vanilla scents, but I do not think this scent is for me, as it doesn’t seem to mask any odor. I’m not sure if the quality of the deodorant has gone down since the company was bought or if it is the scent, but I wouldn’t buy this one again.

Repurchase: No.

The Honey Pot Company Calming Herbal Infusion Pads

I do really like these, but I like the cooling ones more. I think for people who are scared to use the cooling ones, these are a good direction to take. I would recommend these to people who don’t want to use tampons anymore because the company is woman-owned and they seem to really care about how well their products are made. I won’t be buying these exact ones again, but I will be repurchasing the cooling ones.

Repurchase: No.

Reach Travel Toothbrush

Short and sweet: I needed a toothbrush with a cover and a mini toothpaste. I saw this at the store, and I bought it. Since then, I have purchased a bamboo travel toothbrush cover, and the toothpaste I now use can be taken on flights, so I have no reason to repurchase this item! It was a fine toothbrush and was convenient, but I recommend repurchasing something reusable.

Repurchase: No.
