My June 2026 Beauty and Health Empties and Reviews
In 2025, I set out on a mission to love my morning and night routine. When I took a look at my bathroom drawers, my piles of makeup, and my vanity, I knew there were products I loved in there, but all I could see was junk. I wanted to enjoy my time while putting on my makeup and while taking it off. Between all the items that were given to me and all of the ones I bought mindlessly, I was in a haze where I didn’t know what I loved and what I put up with.
To put a stop to haphazard buying and begin purposeful purchases, I began reviewing every “empty” I had. In June, I was able to finish up so many products that have been lying in my vanity just waiting to be used. It’s getting to a point where I open my bathroom cabinet, and there are only a couple of skincare and hygiene products in there that I won’t be repurchasing. All others are the staples that I am excited to use every day. Other than makeup (which will probably take me years to get through), I am almost done with the products that I won’t be repurchasing, and I am so excited to finally have all vegan and cruelty-free products that I love!
PanOxyl Oil Control Moisturizer
I really love PanOxyl, but this was one of the worst moisturizers I’ve ever used. It had SPF in it, so I was planning on using it as my morning moisturizer and sunscreen, but it is so white and peely that I couldn’t use it at all. I thought maybe it was working weirdly with the products I put on prior to this one, so I put it on my bare face. The same thing happened. I tried to use this product and make it work so I wouldn’t have to waste anything, but unfortunately, I couldn’t. Every time I put it on, I would get a white cast, and then it would slowly begin to ball up and peel on my face.
Repurchase: No.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
I was given this product by my sister, and I used it once or twice a month. I think this got a lot of hate because people put it on their face too often and for too long. I actually have sensitive skin and break out easily, but this works pretty well for me. It is a nice quick exfoliation every once in a while and is on the cheaper side. I don’t plan on buying this again right away, but I would consider repurchasing it in the future.
Repurchase: Yes.
Freeman Hydrating Cactus and Cloudberry Water Gel Mask
This was given to me by my mom, who was given it by someone else. I used it and was pleasantly surprised by how moisturizing it was. It didn’t break me out at all and was gentle enough on my skin. I wouldn’t spend money on this personally because I don’t know what actual benefits this has, and the brand is not cruelty-free.
Repurchase: No.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Nourishing Mask
This is my favorite sheet mask for sure. I love that it is gentle, hydrating, and such good quality. This brand is vegan and cruelty-free, and from my point of view, it looks like they take pride in their products. I have used their entire centella line, and I really liked most of the products that I used. For me, it’s just a little out of my price range, but a sheet mask every once in a while is a good splurge. I am trying not to use sheet masks as often to avoid waste, but I would still consider getting this as a small gift or activity with friends.
Repurchase: On occasion.
Wet Brush Mini
I used to not brush my hair at all, and then when I decided to buy a brush, I wanted something portable that wouldn’t take up a lot of room. When I saw this, I was satisfied. I’ve had this for a couple of years, and I am now to the point where I can’t fully clean it no matter how hard I scrub, so I bought a new one. This does the job for me, so I bought the same one in black.
Repurchase: Yes.
e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm - Strawberry
I really loved this lip balm, so I am very sad that I am done with it. I used the vanilla one before this, which left a shine on my lips, but this one left a subtle tint as well. It took a long time to go through, and it wasn’t too pricey, though more expensive than I would have liked. I also really liked the scent. I am trying to separate myself from e.l.f. products for their support of Matt Rife as well as their price increase on products, so I will not be repurchasing.
Repurchase: No.
e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil - Rose Envy
This was a nice lip gloss, and I loved the color for my skin tone. This also took me a long time to go through, and I haven’t heard anything bad said about it from anyone. Unfortunately, for the reasons said above, I will not be repurchasing this product.
Repurchase: No.
MIIM.MIIC Compound 52 Hair and Body Mist
A friend of mine was looking for this because it is supposed to be a dupe for the Melanie Martinez perfume from a long time ago, so when I found it, I got myself a bottle too. I used the entire thing, and it smelled really good, but I couldn’t smell it after two seconds. I would spray a lot every time, and the smell just disappeared. I don’t know if the perfume acts differently from the hair and body mist, but I wouldn’t buy this again.
Repurchase: No.
PINK Vanilla Body Lotion Mini
I bought this because I was exchanging something and needed to add a couple more dollars. It said vanilla, so I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised since I ended up absolutely loving it. The scent was amazing, and the lotion was super moisturizing. I felt like it stayed on my skin for a long time as well. I was really disappointed to find out that Victoria’s Secret/PINK isn’t very clear on whether or not they test on animals, and they don’t have any certifications, so I am assuming that they are not cruelty-free. In that case, I sadly won’t be repurchasing.
Repurchase: No.
Bath & Body Works Vanilla and Nutmeg Body Wash
This is my favorite scent that Bath & Body Works has ever created. I smelled it and immediately fell in love, so I bought a ton of the lotions. When I was buying them, there was a deal and I didn’t know how long the lotion would last me, so I got two body washes as well. I really like body wash and, as stated before, I love this scent. There isn’t anything wrong with it and I think it works well, but I prefer to use bar soap since it is more sustainable and doesn’t include plastic packaging. I also don’t typically buy anything from Bath & Body Works unless I have a coupon since I think it has become unreasonably expensive for what it is.
Repurchase: No.
Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails Softgels
I typically take biotin, and this is essentially just that, but when I went to Costco to buy biotin, they had these instead. I always take biotin for hair fallout, and my doctor recommended that I keep taking it, so if they have this again in the future, I would buy this as a substitute. I’m not sure it works, but it is cheap enough for the amount, and my doctor says to take it, so, no harm, no foul, I guess.
Repurchase: Yes.
Nature’s Bounty Magnesium Glycinate Capsules
I love taking magnesium, and I do believe that it has changed my sleep quality. I take this, and I also take low-dose melatonin, and I get some of the deepest sleeps I’ve ever had. I started taking magnesium a couple years back, and at this point, I can’t imagine not having it added to my vitamin routine. My doctor also says it’s amazing for me, so that’s always reassuring. This is a must-buy for me.
Repurchase: Yes.
The Honey Pot Cotton Cover Cooling Herbal Infusion
I really like these and think they are great for pain relief and relaxation, but there are a couple of reasons I won’t be repurchasing them. For me, they aren’t sticky enough, and even with wings, they scrunch up and don’t stay in place. Also, they do not absorb enough. They never end up being full, and yet they won’t continue absorbing. Because I actually liked the product, I was going to keep trying these, but given where they are manufactured, I will not be repurchasing.
Repurchase: No.
Sleep Science Melatonin - 2.5 mg
This is the only melatonin that works for me. I absolutely love it. It’s a small pill (“lozenge”) that disintegrates in your mouth and then, less than an hour later, I’m ready for a good night's sleep. I didn’t even pick this up at the store; I just saw it lying around the house and took one, and my life changed after that. Melatonin has never worked for me, but this one miraculously does, so I’m going to continue with it.
Repurchase: Yes.
