My September 2025 Beauty and Health Empties and Reviews
In 2025, I set out on a mission to love my morning and night routine. When I took a look at my bathroom drawers, my piles of makeup, and my vanity, I knew there were products I loved in there, but all I could see was junk. I wanted to enjoy my time while putting on my makeup and while taking it off. Between all the items that were given to me and all of the ones I bought mindlessly, I was in a haze where I didn’t know what I loved and what I put up with.
To put a stop to haphazard buying and begin purposeful purchases, I began reviewing every “empty” I had. In September, I think my empties have started to dwindle down, which is so exciting! Because I have been going through so many products that I had been sitting around, I am now starting to focus on only having products that I use every day or when going out somewhere. This hasn’t only started to ease my mind when I am getting ready, but it has really been easing my mind about my environmental impact and product usage. Thank you, September!
Panoxyl PM Overnight Spot Patches
This is maybe the fourth box of these that I have gone through, and every time, I am blown away by how much I love them. They work so well and are so efficient in what they do. Because they are clear/foggy, they don’t attract eyes to your blemish, and within an hour of putting it on, it seems to sink into your skin so you can barely tell it’s there. I also love how many you get in one pack, and with how affordable they are, it’s a great price for the amount as well. I tend to use the larger ones faster than the smaller ones, but maybe that’s just me. Panoxyl is also cruelty-free, so bonus points for that.

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash 10% Benzoyl Peroxide
This is my go-to face wash, and I will never ever part from it. I only wash my face with this for around one minute, but if you want its full benefits, the brand recommends washing your face for two minutes. I also use this after an oil cleanser, which I think makes it work better since I am washing clean skin. I’ve heard that this is a bit too harsh for some people, so in that case, I would recommend the 4% version, but I have very sensitive skin, and this works wonders for me. I will say, I have ruined the collar of a T-shirt or two by getting this on them, so it is best to use it in the shower.

Good Molecules Sheer Mineral Sunscreen
I had a lot of hope for this sunscreen, even though it wasn’t recommended to me, and I just chose it because I had hope in good molecules. I would never buy this sunscreen again, and for a couple of reasons. It left a noticeable white cast on my skin, and no matter how much I rubbed it in, it was still noticeable and would come out again when I sweat. Second, when I first started using it, there was a slight burn, but that stopped happening. Third, it has a kind of weird smell that I haven’t experienced with other sunscreens.

Sun Bum SPF 70 Original Face Lotion Sunscreen
I bought this because I really like Sun Bum sunscreen in general, but I ended up not liking this for sensitive skin. I used the rest up on my body, and it worked well for that. When I used it on my face, I experienced irritation, but I will note that my friend, who also has sensitive skin, uses this, and she loves it. It obviously varies from person to person, but I will unfortunately not be repurchasing.

Carol's Daughter Goddess Strength 7 Oil Blend Hair & Scalp Oil
While this smells phenomenal, I have to part with it. This hair oil did absolutely nothing wrong, but I am only looking to keep one hair oil in my vanity at a time. Since I can’t truly oil my hair for multiple hours with this product, I am going to say goodbye, but if I wanted to keep a daily hair oil, I would use this one. I love how light yet nourishing it is, and I would use it after I shower and after I put heat on my hair to help with frizz. I am not sure that it strengthened my hair, but it did make it look shinier and healthier without weighing it down. If I ever choose to have a daily hair oil separate from my thicker hair oil, I will definitely come back to this.

Softsoap Body Wash Exfoliating Scrub Coconut Butter
I got this purely because in my mind, a body wash is a bit more cutesy and girly than a bar soap, and I was having a self-care day and wanted to have something a bit extra. I am a bar soap girl through and through, though, so this purchase was just one time. I will say, this did last me an incredibly long time, and it smelled great when I was applying it. I am not sure that the smell lingered after the shower, and even though there is the exfoliating aspect of it in the title, I don’t think the little beads inside of it did much exfoliating. Softsoap is also not cruelty-free, so even if I want to purchase another body wash, it won’t be this one.

up&up Women’s 5 Blade Disposable Razors
I have used these razors for probably over four years now, and because of their affordability, while also having five blades, I have never had a problem with them. I rarely get cuts while using these, and admittedly, if I do, it is probably my fault. They also have that moisturizing bar on the top and bottom of the razor, which I really like, but can also get in the way of the blades sometimes. I am not very picky about my razors, so I will stay with them, but I know up&up is possibly not cruelty-free, leading me to think about gravitating towards a different brand in the future.

TheraBreath Whitening Fresh Breath Oral Rinse, Dazzling Mint
This has also become a staple in my daily routine, and I will definitely be continuing to use it in the future. I love that TheraBreath doesn’t have that alcohol feeling when I use it, and the mint is strong, but not to the point where it burns. I also find that my mouth feels healthier when I use this, and my breath stays fresh longer. You aren’t able to eat or drink anything for 30 minutes after using this, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. I haven’t seen any crazy whitening effects with this mouthwash, so if that is what you’re looking for, I would try it for yourself and see if there is any difference.

Daisy Fuentes Scented Hand Cream - Warm Vanilla
My mom got a variety pack of these hand creams during the holidays, and I don’t let anything go to waste, so I am using all of them since I was just about to run out of hand cream. I started with this one because I am a big vanilla fan. I like the texture of the cream, and I think that it is moisturizing. The smell is very subtle once you put it on, but not to the point where you can’t smell it at all. I would say these are very convenient to have, and I am excited to use up the rest of them.

EOS Shea Better Body Lotion - Vanilla Cashmere
I have so many mixed feelings about this body lotion. I love the smell (absolutely love it), but the bottle and the pump almost sent me over the edge. If you have watched my review videos, you know I cut open every bottle I have to get every last bit of product out before I buy anything new. I do this with every product I own. With this bottle, you can’t cut it because of how hard the plastic is, but also, the pump stops working before you can use a large amount of product. Luckily, my fingers are small enough that I can get the product out that way, but who likes doing that? This lotion is very affordable for a lot of lotion, but I think EOS knew what they were doing when they made the pump-to-bottle ratio, hoping people would just buy a new bottle and throw away the product. I’m also not sure if it was a defect in my bottle, but I found the pump to be so short that I barely got any lotion out and had to pump it so many times since I use this lotion for my whole body. Love the smell, hate the bottle.

Degree Advanced Protection Antiperspirant Deodorant - Vanilla & Jasmine
I’m so heartbroken that Degree is not cruelty-free because I really like their deodorant. It works for me, it’s affordable, and I can buy it anywhere. I also like that they do not have a ton of scents, but the scents that they do have are pretty universal and fun to go through. I like that I can smell the deodorant when I sweat, and even though I am sweating, I don’t smell bad. This deodorant really worked for me, and I would love for it to be my staple, but sadly, it cannot be.

Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera
I bought this aloe at Walmart while I was on a trip in Utah, and I loved that it was dye-free, and it was just as refreshing as the aloe I typically use. I love the feel of aloe because it absorbs so quickly, and I also like the chill effect that it has on skin. With this aloe, I did find that after a couple of hours, it would start flaking on my skin. When I added lotion on top of it, this didn’t happen, but just a note. If I couldn’t buy my normal aloe from Walgreens, I would buy this again.

Nature’s Bounty Magnesium Glycinate
This is the second bottle of this magnesium that I have gone through, and I love it. I think I see differences in my sleep when I use this consistently, and I know that a lot of people recommend taking magnesium, so it’s good to take it in general. I get this at Costco, which is super convenient, so I’m super satisfied with this product.

Ryshi Organic Triple-Size Cotton Balls
My mom just got these at Walmart, I think, and I am not picky at all when it comes to things like cotton balls or Q-Tips. For me, these worked perfectly fine, but I would like to use whatever kind Costco sells. If I needed cotton balls and I was at Walmart, sure, I would get these again.
